Sorry, imma a bit slow when it comes to TV resolutions and whatnotSo can anyone tell me if getting an HDMI cable would be a good idea? Does is make a 720P picture look any better than what my HD component cables do?ThanksIs HDMI better than HD Component cables?
From what I've read (haven't tried it myself), it is much better. Is HDMI better than HD Component cables?
the HDMI port makes the HD settings of your Xbox 360 act like a computer as you can choose the resolution settings. While the default HD cables have a pre-designated resolution for the different resolution settings. So that makes the HDMI much better. :)

Basically, yes HDMI is better than component cables. Don't go off buying some expensive cable though. A cheap $5 one will do just fine. I got two 6' long cables for $3 each at a local store and there have been no problems for over 6 months. If you buy a $50 monster cable, you might as well give them your entire wallet because you're throwing your money away.

do not use a intercooler one broke my friends xbox he told them on the phone he used and they cancelled his warrnaty.
they take electric from the xbox which it needs to run properly and this slowly causes it to die. theres also a potential for it actually blokcing the air vents and my friend had it where the intercooler malfunctioned and burnt out his power socket. if you search google theres loads of photos of other people had similar things.
i know people get paranoid over rrod but these do not help you avoid that and they can break your machine. please do not use one its not neceassary . ill get u some photos of what happened to my friends xbox after it burnt it out as they are loads of photos on goolge images.
if it needed these fans they would be built in. or microsoft would sell the device. but get hdmi like and a plug n charge kit. if getting a intercooler helps you get these cheaper than if u dont buy a cooler then get it but do not use the cooler ebay it. you will thank me in the long run/ ill find some photos for you
cougar you get access to the expanded black settings. so you can control how black black is. it will never be real black on component. but some tvs will have this option in the settings of the tv or the xbox will unlock them for you. as on my tv they were greyed out when i was on component but on my bros they were active to alter on component. but on hdmi they are guaranteed available to tweak.
there are also options to choose the type of hmdi transmission for the colour so you can use a better version of hdmi and get better colour range on your tv if its supported. so they are other options but even without these the picture is definetally better on your games even at 720p which i run
plus when my xbox broke ,. i got a arcade while it was being fixed. it had a hdmi port in. i used hdmi for it , i thought i might as well see how it is. and the fine detail is alot sharper, where component will still look mint but these edges are slightly more blurred. with hdmi on a decent sized tv you can see every individual pixel clearly in focus, with component it still looks great but its not as sharp. the difference was good enough for me to sell my old xbox and keep the arcade with hdmi. when i had a option to return the arcade back to asda as a ''unwanted gift'' and get a full refund. so if i did that at the sacrifice of 30pounds then it must be worth it

my friend also had dark brown marks around where the fans were on the back
the xbox does have some hardware problems which are in the old models. but extra fans does not fix this problem contary to popular belief. these people just cash in on it. but they make them for every system its just a money spinner. u can get them for ps3 and even wii and they dont need them either.
Do not get a intercooler under any circumstance, and yes HDMI is quite a bit better than HD componant cables.
i was thinking of just getting thepackageanyways for the HDMI cables and battery pack (my pack is shot and stays charged for like 2 mins, lmao) i don't care if it's generic, it's bound to hold more charge than what my other one isand yea, thanks for the heads up...i'll just try to sell the intercooler

My 360 accesses 1360 X 768 through my HDTV
It gives a really clear picture
Yeah, don't buy the intercooler.
It does more harm than good. It disrupts the exhaust air flow so you have a proverbial traffic jam of air causing the heat to build up.
If you want to do anything. Then it's best to upgrade the existing fans with higher CFM fans.
But that voids your warrantee
If you really want to go into it, there are various water cooling kids on the market for 360s.
But those would void your warrantee, too.

something about this just does not make sense, i dont know what it is, but it doesnt sound right
And doesn't the Intercooler block access to the HDMI port?
I agree, it makes no sense. You get extra options via HDMI but not to the extent you can fine tune your resolution settings. You still only get 720p 1080i and 1080p settings. The extra options you get are for black settings etc.
The options for ''fine tuning resolutions'' (for want of a better phrase), are found using a VGA cable.
Back on topic though, HDMI is clearly the best option
ya HDMI is superior thats what i use for my 360 and ps3
