Help Me on GTA4's Final Misson

So for the past two days, I've been stuck on the last GTA mission. I chose the deal option, so now I have to chase Dimitri. I'm at the part where i have to get picked up by Jacob in the helicopter, but my boat isn't fast enough. I've tried everything, I've even raced past the helicopter that Dimitri is in to get closer to Jacob, but everytime i come a bit close he flies off before I have time. Anyone able to give me some help?Help Me on GTA4's Final Misson

That's exactly what I've been doing. I've also tried to not take sharp turns and take more eventual ones to keep my speed up, but that hasn't worked either. I am so incredibly angry right now. This is the one time I feel like taking my entire console and throwing it into my TV. I watched a walk through video, and it seems that Jacob stayed down for longer in that than he is for me.
Did you try doing a barrell roll?

I'm going to blame the game. I've got OCD when it comes to doing something right haha. Okay I shall try it again now and see what happens.

Make sure you hit the correct ramp in the boat to jump to the helicopter. The first couple of times I did it, I hit a different ramp thinking it was the right one and wondered why it didn't work. It's a wooden one you want to hit.

What ramp are you talking about?
Theres a ramp on the beach along the river which you have to jump off, its got a red objective point thing to point out where it is, just keep driving down the river until you see it.



P.S. I just realised you do it on the bike, not the boat!
