The game summary states that there will be in game micro transactions. Not as free as you might like. I'll hope for the best and expect the worst with this one.

I was interested when I saw free to play MMO, but seeing those screenshots - what age is that aimed for? looks very kiddy

They have to get their money some how to keep the servers running and keep the game working the way it should. You're not ever required to pay these things.This game could be fun as an XBLA thing that you pick up and play occasionally. Doesn't look like something that will engage too much of my time, but it could be fun. Any idea how much it will cost to buy or download?

Most free to play MMOs will have things you can buy in game (better weapons, clothing items, things along that line) for real money. They have to get their money some how to keep the servers running and keep the game working the way it should. You're not ever required to pay these things.

It's free to download and play. They did a preview a few weeks ago on the Gamespot UK Podcast. Sounds pretty fun, its a 2D-platformer with ninja-style attacks. The idea is to build up a massive combo to deal the most damage.
Any idea what the release date is going to be? I'm still skeptical about it being free to download completely.

Not sure about a release, but it is definately free to download and play. A guy developing the game came in and talked about it and pointed out that all the games they develop are free to download and play as they are an independent developer and only make money off their microtransactions.
I would rather just pay a monthly fee and play a good MMO.

So true. A good MMO is like 10 or more bucks per month!!!. My Gamefly + XBL Gold + XBLA games = already too much spending. I do have the money for it, but I think that's over spending, unless I cancel what I have and only play MMO like rest of my life (which happened to a lot of WoW addicts)

they should make a mmo that you just have to have live gold to play. it wud take something special to pay twice to play a game for me

That's true. Microsoft should come up with their own MMO that gets included in your Gold subscription. That might make the money we're paying worth it.
