VGA no signal until I cycle inputs for 2 ...

This is a very weird problem I'm having lately. I used to use a component cable to connect my 360 to my new Panasonic LCD HDTV and it worked great at 720p. However, I chose to upgrade to a brand new VGA cable a few weeks ago because of the much improved resolution. When I first tried to use it, the TV displayed ''no signal'' on a black screen (yes, I had it set to PC input). OK, here comes the weird part. As I stare at that ''no signal'' message, I decide to start cycling through the list of television inputs with my remote control. Each time I arrive at PC, there is still no signal. After cycling for about 2 minutes, however, I arrive at PC with a perfect display of my xbox 360 dashboard in brilliant HD! What could possibly be the problem that causes me to have to cycle through my television inputs for two minutes while my VGA ''warms up'' (I dont' even know what to call it)?VGA no signal until I cycle inputs for 2 ...
I don't know. But I have a similar problem where it takes 30 seconds for anything to appear on my monitor. It never used to happen until I unplugged the cable, used it on a different console, and plugged it back in. (My console was off both times).

I've heard of this happening with HDMI cables also.
