Xbox Live service = Uneqaul opportunity ...

Unequal opportunity facts:While everyonein the worldis celebrating all the great news from E3, we (Middle Eastern Gamers) are once more in the shadows feeling sorry that there were no announcements concerning our wretched countries!! We still didn't get to havethe Middle Eastlisted in the console or having any Middle Eastern country as a ''Locale'' option meaning we literally cannot join Xbox Live ''Officially''!!! The 360 has been released since 2005, and now we're in mid 2009 and still Microsoft is not giving us the privilege to join Live! But how do we all use it then? Well of course we use fake addresses and contact details of our family, friends or any relatives we have in the US or any of the countries that have access to Live, and do we like it??? YOU BET WE DON'T! Especially when you buy Microsoft Points to purchase something then when you try to download it tells you that it's unavailable in your region!!!Microsoft allows you to basicallyregister your Live service from any IP Address in the world, but when you want to download something you will get the following message ''This download is not available in your area'', a good example on this are the downloadable contents for ''Dead Rising'', I can download only two or three of them but the rest is ''Not available in my area'' What the hell???? I am a paying Xbox Live customer, I pay the same amount as a US player and I bought the same consolebut I get less privileges??? I have a game library of 100+ ''Original Games'', my console is not and will NEVER be modified, and what'sthe reward I get from Microsoft for my loyalty? No recognition to join the Live service!
A quick comparison between Microsoft and Sony:
1- PS3 was released OFFICIALLY inMiddle East1 day before the official launch in Europe (March 22nd 2007)with it'sFULL OFFICIAL PSN online service which means a lot.
2- Microsoft released the 360 ''Officially'' only on June or July 2007!!!!!!! Two years after the whole world?????''WITH NO XBOX LIVE SUPPORT'' which means a lot as well!!!!

Bottom line is this, if Microsoft didn't see any profit in the Middle Eastern market then they wouldn't have released the console in the first place with many gamessupportinglocal languageor withlocal languagemanuals, but thiscarelessness towards their customers in the region is not in their interest, for example I live in Dubai and we have one local auction website (like ebay) where people are putting in their Xbox for trade with a PS3, why? Because they can do whatever they want on a PS3 as it's fully supported by Sony in the region unlike the 360, and let's be honest and realistic here, we know that most of the people around the world buy 360 because of the more rewarding online experience so imagine having that taken away from you!! Would you still buy the 360???Xbox Live service = Uneqaul opportunity ...
Businesses have the right to choose where they do business. If they don't want to do business in every single country around the world then so be it, you're *%26#$ out of luck. Xbox Live service = Uneqaul opportunity ...
why would i care its supported in uk so thats good enough for me. every country has different stuff, theres tv programs i cant watch coz they aint shown in uk but im not going to moan about it.

and i bought my xbox not wanting to play online with it. it was only when i was bored a few months later that i went online. so i would of still bought a 360 for offline because thats why i bought it anyways.

no one gets rewarded for our loyality we pay for everything we get. loyality has nothing at all to do with anything. ever think they dont have licence rights to distribute the software to your areas?? and if they paid for them they probally realise they wouldnt be enough money coming in to cover the costs. its hardly a boom country for sales of computers.

ms target markets they can make the most rather than messing around with regiions that dont draw money, your best writing to ms than a forum nothing will be achieved here

any amounts of western businesses have tried to conquor areas such as yours and normally they dont break even on a commerical level thats just the way things go.

get a ps3 if thats wat u want

in uk there are far less services on xbox live as usa but i dont care at all, netflix and loads of demos etc and games which are region specific which i can see if i use a usa account but i cant download also so its not just a problem with your area. just everyone has differnt options in their country and thats how it will always be.

sounds like ur accessing the service against the terms and conditions if you are lying about ur location etc. so your not even meant to use the service your moaning about. which odds on must be slighlty illegal in some way, i bet you wouldnt phone them up, tell the the truth about having a account with a wrong address on so you can access their services then moan about not being able to access stuff on the online shop thats region locked. so ur really accessesing something you have no right to in all honesty. so quit while ur ahead or be honest and phone them up and tell the truth. i dont think you would

you do realise your systems probally not even the same region as teh games your trying to buy, if i buy a usa game it wont work on a uk xbox unless its region free. thats nothing new, games and films are region locked. you should work out what region you are in and use that countrys address instead to access the online shop you will probally have a better success.

i dont think india will be in same dvd region as usa. more probs same as japan , and thats probally the reason behind most stuff not working

and having loads of games does not give you extra rights than if you only owned one game. what does that have to do with anything. espieally when your on about people getting treated equally.
Before you even think about getting Live in your country you have to have the infrastructure. With that i mean a solid internet system available to the majority in the country.

Even before that MS have to feel it's going to be profitable. If the project isn't going to provide long term profitabilty then its a no go! Just look at the Zune and the UK so far. The UK is saturated with iPods and other meida devices so MS aren't taking the risk till they get a stable market in the US.

India is not in the middle east and MS support them there lol
Well, I did write to MS my friend (August last year)and the reply I got from them wasrather disappointing: ''At this time there is no answer for your question, we recommend checking with you regional office'' or something like that.. However, I'm not moaning because I don't have access toLive but becauseI'm just not enjying the full potential of my subscription, and with all due respect TV shows are a totally different thing because you should then imagine that Orbit or Showtme are selling you their complete package and despite the fact that you pay for it in full you only get have half of the channels! Besides, Xbox Live service is very well protected and they have nothing to worry about and if we're talking quantity herethen the Middle East has16 countries combined and if you check the sales figures in the region you won't see anything that justifies preventing all those people from having the service, not to mention that they have promised this already twice!
''any amounts of western businesses have tried to conquor areas such as yours and normally they dont break even on a commerical level thats just the way things go''You don't believe we were just waiting for MS to feel sorry for us and launch Xbox officially here right? Because that's not the case, in fact we had a huge fan base and we were by that time getting consoles and games imported from Europe, Japan or the US, and the way I see it is that the regional office decided to to launch officially because they saw the huge success of the product in the region.

''get a ps3 if thats wat u want'' I already have one that's why I can compare, thank you!

''in uk there are far less services on xbox live as usa but i dont care at all, netflix and loads of demos etc and games which are region specific which i can see if i use a usa account but i cant download also so its not just a problem with your area. just everyone has differnt options in their country and thats how it will always be'' Makes sense, I agree.

''sounds like ur accessing the service against the terms and conditions if you are lying about ur location etc. so your not even meant to use the service your moaning about. which odds on must be slighlty illegal in some way, i bet you wouldnt phone them up, tell the the truth about having a account with a wrong address on so you can access their services then moan about not being able to access stuff on the online shop thats region locked. so ur really accessesing something you have no right to in all honesty. so quit while ur ahead or be honest and phone them up and tell the truth. i dont think you would'' Too bad you're wrong about that, if they had a problem with this then their stupid president in the region wouldn't have said to a leading local newspaper back in 2008when asked about the matterthat ''gamers in the Middle East can access can the service from other servers and that Microsoft will only be giving the region its own server when they see the potential of the many people using the service'', don't you agree? Besides I officially wrote to Microsoft regarding my situation last August as I said earlier but mysteriously enough I am still an active Live member and I haven't been banned! On the contrarymy account has been automaticallyrenewed two months back! Does that tell you anything?

''you do realise your systems probally not even the same region as teh games your trying to buy, if i buy a usa game it wont work on a uk xbox unless its region free. thats nothing new, games and films are region locked. you should work out what region you are in and use that countrys address instead to access the online shop you will probally have a better success''. Yes I do, that's why I have two consoles, the first one was a US console before the official launch and the seconed one is PAL which I bought after the official launch.
