E3 Demos, why none for us

Okay GH Smash Hits, and Overlord II. I was expectinga lotmore than that this week. I'm sorry if there are a million other posts like this, but i'm really disappointed. Maybe some demos are on the way still, but it would have been nice to feel like E3 was for the consumers and not just the press. Its great seeing videos and all , and watching the live coverage. But why not put up demos on xbox live of whats playable on the show floor? What better way to sell these games to the consumer, instead of just catering to the media. We should deffinitly be playing demos for Batman Arkham Asylum, Ultimate Alliance 2, NFS Shift, Assasin's Creed 2, Wet, Lost Planet 2, Darksiders, Tekken 6, Dragon Age Origins, Wolfenstein, Forza 3, Dark Void, Bayonetta, Splinter Cell, and Mass Effect 2.It only seems fair to let your consumer their hands on this stuff, when you have a marketing tool as powerful as xbox live. The point of letting the media play this stuffat these conferanceswas to describe the game to the consumers when it wasn't possible to distribute demos to all your audience. Its a big letdown to have to watch people playing these amazing games all week, and check the marketplace everyday and see nothing but more videos.E3 Demos, why none for us
Those games are way too early for demos.E3 Demos, why none for us
It is just past E3 let the people have alittle break.
its deffinitly not too early for demos of stuff, that has demos at the show,if its not ready, fine, but people were playing demos of that stuff all week, why not give the fans a copy as well. that's all.

Because the people that attend E3 know that the demo's are all in early stages for the most part and will have bugs or glitches. Most people who would download it off LIVE would think that they represent the final product and will be disappointed with bugs/glitches.

They do not want to show off a product that is only half-done and hear **** by a bunch of half-brained twits who believe that this resembles even close to the final product and are pissed that it isn't already built to perfection. Basically, if these games where more close to being finished, they would have released a demo for the people.Overlord II and Smash Hits are almost completed. This is why they were both released, it just so happened it was around the time of E3.

Last, they don't ''owe'' us anything...you just think it would be cool to try them is all.
ehh, well your right people would complain on the stuff that's not ready. i know, but for go to a gamestop and play the Arkham Asylum demo, its great, not glitchy. That doesn't come out till september, granted it got pushed back and was alot further along than most of the other games at the show, but i'm just saying, it would have made a nice treat this week especially. Some of these games are only a few months away from shipping, and gotta be pretty playable by now. I just expected to see more than just videos on the market place this week, even a Prototype demo, or ghostbusters, would have been awesome, those are done.

That wouldn't really work as a Demo, since they couldn't really restrict what you could do, basically you'd just be playing a demo that would never be able to end. Wouldn't be good for sales probably. lol.The rest of the games shown at E3 are pretty far from shipping dates. Most of them won't be coming out until the last Quarter, or around the start of October at least, that isn't close enough to really merit a demo. Unless of course they were sports or fighting games, as those would probably be the easiest two to create a quick and easy Demo.Last quick thing, it might have not looked glitchy, but I am sure that people being... eh... people, would have found many things to whine about if it wasn't up to their standards, and they want as little of that as possible. So, obviously they're going to wait until they think that the average gamer would at least be satisfied and then embrace for the more... out-spoken ones.
Im sure the games are still undergoing minor tweaks here and there. Its way too early for demos for some of those games. UA2 doesnt even come out until fall.

And really if you haven't played the demo for batman, go to a gamestop and try it, it is limited, but totally solid. I guess i was alone in expecting demos, okay so the stuff that comes out from october on, okay, i'm with ya, its probably not ready for the public. but is no one else feeling like we should have gotten a few demos this week?

Okay, I will agree with you that I thought we should have gotten a few low-key demos, but people really want demos for the games that just aren't ready yet. No one would be happy with getting a Demo for a game that they wouldn't have thought about otherwise. Unless of course they're looking for diamonds in the rough.A ghostbusters demo is the only thing that I think could have came from this, I guess that would've been enough for some gamers, then again... you have to see that E3 isn't really meant for the demo portion. It's really more inclined to see the games that are coming out in the later Quarters and even the later years. Now, I will say one more time that I do agree that we should have seen maybe one or two demos, but most people want to see Assassin's Creed 2, Mass Effect 2, Dragons Age: Origins and the likes... and those just aren't close to being done. So, be happy that they didn't really show that many demos. Having to play Overlord 2 was bad enough. lol.
